About Us
Namaste! Kind Greetings!
I have always felt an immense love and reverence for nature and plants.
When I moved to Hawaii in 1988, I began working on a tree farm and began a formal study of plants at the University of Hawaii to become a Master Gardener. I was interested in herbs and their properties, enjoyed brewing up decoctions, teas and potions for my friends and family.
I began listening more to plants, to the power of their prana, their life-force and their Healing Energies. Plants and I started communicating more and I have since relied on them for their guidance in herbal formulations.
I moved to India in 1990 to live with my spiritual teacher who gave me the name Śarada (शारदा pronounced Shaaradaa). At the ashram, I was introduced to Ayurveda by offering seva (service) at the clinic for many years. It felt very familiar to me. At the clinic I learned the practical skills of Ayurvedic therapies through working with Vaidyas (Ayurvedic Doctors). I experienced firsthand the wonders, wisdom, and knowledge of this ancient Science of Life. In 1995 I returned to the West to study with my primary Ayurvedic teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute. At the Institute, I met Dr. Robert Svoboda whom from that time forward has been my mentor.
From many years of travel from the States to India, I realized the importance of sharing this Eastern healing tradition to the West.
Following my return, Śarada Ayurvedic Remedies, Inc (1998 to 2022) came into existence as a mother and daughter team through our intent and desire to bring traditional Ayurvedic formulas to North America. We offered a proprietary line of 100% Natural Ayurvedic Facial and Body Care Products. Additionally, I was the Founder and Formulator of Śarada’s Remedies, Inc offering proprietary Traditional Herbal Tinctures. I worked with Organic India as the Chief of Product Development for Body Care and Formulator of KURE Body Care Products form 2017-2022.
I am a Board Certified Ayurvedic Doctor through the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, Registered Herbalist (AHG), Board Certified Therapeutic Massage Therapist (BCTMB) and a graduate of East West Professional Herbology course.
Anastasia’s Remedies manifested as a vehicle to offer new Natural Herbal Remedies and Natural Body Care, as well as a full complement of Ayurvedic Services, Ayurvedic Therapy Training, Herbology and Natural Product Formulation.
Namaste & Love~

An Introduction to Ayurveda
Thousands of years ago, the art and science of Ayurveda was revealed to the Rishis, the seers of Ancient India, as they meditated in the forests. With these revelations came a vast knowledge of the medicinal properties of each tree, plant and mineral and the methodology to awaken the body, mind and spirit into a natural state of balance. This unique, comprehensive and extraordinarily accurate knowledge, passed on through the years by memory and repetition, became the basis for the natural healing system known as Ayurveda, the “Science of Life.” The wisdom and recommendations of the Rishis have a powerful mantra-like effect and, if followed faithfully, give powerful results.
At the core of Ayurveda is the understanding that every individual is a composition of consciousness and nature. From the time of conception, one is created with a unique combination of the Five Great Elements of Nature.
Ether
Air
Fire
Water
Earth
The organization and percentage of these five elements within an individual’s constitution are known as the doshas. Separated into three forces, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, the tri-doshas are recognized within the body by the qualities and actions they perform. In our effort to present the essence of the doshas in an understandable way, we have included the photos below to give you the general “feel” of each dosha, their elements, attributes and activity.
Vata
Ether and Air
Light, Dry, Subtle, Cold
Movement
Pitta
Fire and Water
Sharp, Hot, Light, Unctuous
Transformation
Kapha
Water and Earth
Heavy, Cold, Dull, Sticky
Cohesiveness
Ayurvedic doctors or health practitioners can help you identify your dosha through various diagnostic methods. This knowledge serves as your very own road map for a return to your natural state of being. Awareness of the diet, herbs, oils and lifestyle best suited to your particular constitution leads to health and longevity. Ayurveda offers us a prescription to restore the power of the intelligence of the body, mind and spirit to heal the self. Using nature to heal “our nature” brings about vitality, beauty, inner peace and radiance.
